New Years Eve Makeup Looks | Leah'xo

Hey guys, it's nearly 2015. Shocking- I know, I honestly don't know where 2014 has gone. 365 uncounted days but anyway let's get straight into the looks.

I created a subtle loom for those who don't like bold makeup. Also I am sorry about the structure of these post's, I know they look like I am going on forever but I have tried to break it down with pictures. If you do do this look please tweet me what products you are using instead of me, I would love to know alternatives...

The Final Look. Excuse the eyebrow situation...
Step by Step...
  1. *Applied my foundation (Laval Secret Beauty in Fair.). With the MUA Pro Base Conceal and Brighten Kit I used the skin tone shade to conceal any breakout, I find cream concealer lasts longer so will survive the night. Then I used the more peachy toned concealer to counteract the purplish pigmentation under my eyes, this does the trick but usually tends to crease so I use this lightly but overall I do get brilliant coverage from these products.
  2. *After letting it settle into my skin I set it with Miss Sporty So Clear pressed powder in Translucent. I swear by this powder. It reduces the redness of breakouts and leaves your face looking smooth. But this is the type of powder that may make you look cakey if you are abit heavy handed. I then applied George's (from ASDA) blusher in Little Gem. This has gold specks running through it so leaves you with a glowing finish and the shade of pink is gorgeous.

  3. For the eyes, I tried out a new palette I got for Christmas. It's the Drop Dead Gorgeous Smokey Eyes Palette. It's in a beautiful gold glitter packaging, but the best bit is that it's not actual glitter. So you don't find your make-up bag and everything inside has glitter stuck to it and when you are handling it's smooth and not scratchy. Anyway -
1 # I used the white shade in my inner corner and blended towards the lid.
2 # Then I put the pink shade all over my lid, very messily but an even colour was applied.
3 # On the outer third of my eye I applied the coppery brown shade and blended it in with the pink.
4 # Then with the 'dreaded' foam applicators given with the palette; I used the tip of one to get a very thin line of the gray shade and blended it out with my angled eyeshadow brush.
5 # The palette came with a gel type of eyeliner with silver specks of glitter. So with the eyeliner brush (provided) I made a thin line following my lash-line and flicked it out very thinly. To be honest it wasn't the most pigmented but when I dabbed the gray shadow over the top it stood out more.
6 # I also added abit of the mascara that was provided and to my shock it was actually quite amazing!
7 # I then added some silver glitter because the makeup looked abit dull.

That was it for my first look. A simple smokey eye using my new palette. I am pretty impressed with the pigmentation and the consistency of the eyeshadows. The mascara is incredible and so is the eyeliner brush. I think if the eyeliner was a tad bit more pigmented it would be a 10/10 from me!

SEVENTEEN Nail Stash Collection // Leah'xo

Hey guys, I got this as an early Christmas present off my friend and knew I had to do a review on it.  It's the SEVENTEEN Nail Stash Collection.

*babble alert*
This is a very good christmas idea because if they paint their nails alot or they don't have a specific type of colour they like then a set is for everybody. Personally I don't have a colour scheme I stick to on my nails it's whatever I feel like but I never not have them painted. Whereas my friend always goes for the dark burgandy, purple shades. So for her I usually just stick to a single bottle because she wouldn't wear half of the ones in a set -ANYWAY-

In this set there are nine mini bottles of nail varnish, 4 solid colours, 4 metallic colours and one glittery one. The colours are: (in order) Pink Lemonade, Caribbean Coral, Ruby Gem, Peacock, Fury, Moonstruck, Copper, Navy Glint and Nightshade. They are all stunning colours and go on very easily. They are mini bottles so the brush is smaller than what the full size one would be but it's more accurate.
I wanted to get this up because they are on sale for £6.00 at Boots.com right now (originally £12.00)

My favourite is the Peacock and Ruby Gem, The peacock reminds me of petrol. You know- when you see petrol spilt on the road and It looks like a rainbow type of pattern but the nail varnish is so much more vibrant! It has also a gold shimmer aspect to it so it beautiful when it catches the light😊. The ruby gem shade is a gorgeous burgundy shade. It is a solid coulour and spreads evenly. I painted my nails in the dark and in the morning they were a bit amateur looking but we're still very nice.
The only shade I am disappointed in is the pink lemonade shade it doesn't have much pigmentation but has the same great formula as the others! When I applied the first coat it looked like I had just applied clear nail varnish but I think it would be a really good French manicure colour!

I hope you get the chance to try these out! They are amazing...

Liebster Award.

Hey guys. I ever thought I'd get nominated to do an award or tag. I was very surprised when yesterday I got nominated for the Liebster Award. I have researched abit about the 'award' and it does suggest a few different strategies so I am just going to pick the one I have saw the most.

Thank you to Adele from All Things Adele. Everyone should go give her loves, follow her and check out her answers for her set of questions because she puts so much effort into her posts.<3. I can't believe how similar we are through our answers. I think this is such a good idea for new bloggers.

So here are the questions she asked :

   1. Why did you start blogging?
I watched loads of YouTube video's about makeup and a lot of tutorials, as I watched more and my subscription list got to nearly 250 channels. (Only about 50 of them were not beauty or fashion) I became more familiar with makeup and found myself wanting to start YouTube videos myself. But I wasn't brave enough, so I kept putting it off and then stumbled across blogspot. I fell in love with reading peoples blog and made my own one day. Now I love it and wouldn't change it for the world.

   2. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I love the community of bloggers. They are all so nice and genuine. But my favorite thing is probably the feeling you get when someone comments on your post saying thank you for helping, or just a comment. It's reassurance people read your blog and like your contents.

   3. Sweet food or savory food?
Good question :), I have to be in the mood for chocolate or sweets. So I think I'd pick savory. Give me a pack of sour cream and onion party mix crisps any day. Hahaha.

       4. Favorite film?
I am a (not so) secret Hunger Games and Harry Potter Fan :) But I think my absolute favorite film has to be ANY teenage romances. I just think they're so cute to watch - Hahaha.

5.) What do you do in your spare time? (Besides Blogging)
In my spare time I do BSL. (British Sign Language) And I have my Level 1 qualification in BSL. I volunteer at a group who sign songs and raise money for the deaf community.

     6. Where would you go if you could travel anywhere in the world?
I used to go abroad every year when I was little but now I have younger siblings we don't go abroad. They don't like the heat, If I went abroad I would love to go America. The first ever stop would be to Sephora just to experience it in person. Then I'd buy a McDonald's because apparently the meals are bigger than England's? Who knows.

     7. Do you prefer Tea or Coffee?
Easy - Tea. Stereotypical British person :) I only prefer it because I have no sugar in so I find it healthier for me ;) And its not as bitter...

     8. What is your favorite colour?
My favorite colour is White. I don't know why I just think it's clean looking and yeah that's about it :/ Hahaha

      9. What's your favorite type of restaurant?
I don't really eat out I usually have takeaways, but even then it's only when my mum's ill and doesn't want to cook or when we are having a DVD night. But I really love a Pizza takeaway. So Italian :)

     10. Are you a cosy night in or party all night type of person?
Hard one, I don't go to alot of parties but when I do I go all out and don't stop so in some ways I'm a party all night kind of person, but there is nothing better than relaxing in bed reading blogs, watching videos with a nice brew (cup of tea) and a chocolate biscuit...

I hope my answers are OK, I've answered them honestly and I hope you enjoyed reading them.  I tag

Emma Louise from Emmy's Blog,
Katherine from KatherineRosie,
Katie from Curvaceous Beauty,
Leah from Beyond the Velvet,
Rachel from Beyond the Velvet,
And last but not least -
Meg from A Day in the Life of a Teenage Girl.

My questions are:
1.What's your number one played song on your phone/ipod/computer?
 2. If you could throw any type of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
 3. What would you name your autobiography?
 4. What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
 5. What is your favorite smell and sound? (Strange I know! -Haha)
 6. What vision do you have for your blog in the future?
 7. How do you get ready/prepare to write a blog post?
 8. Who was your inspiration to start blogging?
 9. How open are you about your blog, do you tell people alot or are you more secretive?
 10. What is the first feature you look at in someone?

None of you have to do it but I love all your blogs and thought it would be nice to nominate you all <3 Good luck.

Skincare Wishlist | Leah'xo

Hey guys, I think to pursue with my blogging dreams I need alot more beauty items in my collection. Well I think that's a good enough excuse to go shopping, if not what is? Ha ha. My skin is so bad all the time, I think it's because I'm a teenager and my hormones are running wild but sometimes I am at my wits end with it. Sometimes it's so dry foundation looks awful, Sometimes it's so oily my make-up slides off, Sometimes it's got so many blemishes I want to cry and Sometimes it's so nice and smooth that I go bare faced everywhere.

I don't do much skin care. I take my make-up off with make-up wipes. I recently have been using Simple Make-up Wipes and so far I like them but I think I like my previous ones more. They were from Primark and cost £1 for 50 wipes.

Here's my wishlist of skin care products and a teeth thing (couldn't resist)!

Herbalism Facial Cleanser : I raved about this months ago in my Lush Blog Post (here), I still want everything on that wishlist though aha. I spoke briefly about this along with loads of other stuff. I will have it one day :) The thing that gets me with this product is that it's got nettles in. And other very organic ingredient, at the moment my skin needs some TLC so I am really looking forward to getting this soon. This is £6.75 for 100g.

Garnier Fresh Refining Toner Shine Be Gone! : I was looking for a good toner everywhere and I thought the micellar water from garnier. I see all the youtubers and blog writers raving about it but when I went onto the Superdrug website their was a whole line of toning waters. I have a very oily T-zone so thought this may do the trick as it is mattifying. It is cheaper than the micellar water but I am hoping it is still good. When my mum is buying this for christmas she'll probably be thinking i'm mad it's just water:) This is £2.19 for 200ml.

Garnier Moisture Match Hydrating Gel Wake Me Up : This is from the same brand but really drawn by attention. I find it so hard to wake up in the mornings and when I do my skin feels horrible when applying make-up. A hydrating gel sounds lush, cooling and reviving my skin in the morning. This is £3.99 for 50ml.

Ayesha Fresh Face Masks : When I went on the Lush website yesterday evening I really wanted to find a mask for when I wanted a pamper night. I wanted something for blackheads and pores. I couldn't find one after over-looking this one I nearly gave up until I clicked this one. The description says :
We use moisturising honey and fresh asparagus and kiwis in this brightening fresh face mask. Fuller’s earth and witch hazel absorb dirt and oil, helping to tighten the skin, whilst elderflower vinegar and elderflower oils balance out skin tone. How nice does that sound?! This is £6.50 for 75g.

Atomic toothy tabs:
'Go to war on bad breath with Atomic. This solid toothpaste in tab form gently cleans your teeth, refreshes your mouth, and soothes ulcers as it’s made with cinnamon and cloves, bicarbonate of soda, kaolin powder, and essential oils.' Don't they just sound amazing. To be honest it's just the novelty which makes me want to buy these but they only cost £2.50 for 12g so no harm going to be done ;)

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser: When I was reading the reviews alot of them said it helped with their breakouts, didn't dry their skin and some even said it helped with their oiliness. Honestly it sounds like heaven in a bottle but is it too good to be true? I hope no because if I am ever in The Body Shop with £5 I will be tempted to buy it!!

Thanks for reading:-

Mini Make-up Haul (Models own, NARS, Benefit ect.) | Leah'xo

Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't uploaded. I was going to the other day but I fell down the stairs and my side is very sore. I am limited in my movement with it so I just haven't been feeling up to it. I'll be up and running soon Anyway the other week I went to a Welsh market and got some goodies. I hope you enjoy.

The first thing I got was a powder eyeshadow from Models Own. There was only these ones left and I just had to pick them up! The was NEON PINK and NEON ORANGE. Which I think I can create some imaginative looks. I am hoping they are pigmented, they look matte through the packaging. So I am hoping they good.

The second thing I got was a powder brush from Marks and Spencers. The hair are so so so sooo soft I could stroke it on my face 24/7. It is a small kabuki brush which says it's for mineral foundation but I am going to use it for powder.
The lighting is abit funky but it's the best one:)

The next thing I got was also from Marks and Spencers but the line if now discontinued. It is a voluminous lip serum. I haven't tried this out yet but I thought it sounded cool. I have a very small upper lip so I am hoping this works. It is from the Honey Miel Range.

The most exciting thing is the Benefit Dr. Feelgood. Although I am quite confused about this product I am so excited to try it out. It says on the container 'This invisible refiner, blended with Vitamin C helps to smooth away the appearance of fine lines while leaving skin feeling and looking more silky, flawless and matte to the touch. It's a colourless, weightless miracle worker' I am so very excited:)

I also got a little pearl eyeshadow. I am not going to go into much detail because I can't find it anywhere online but it is such a lovely iridescent white. It is from Revolution Madina. There is no point telling you all about something you can't get if you like it...

The last thing I got was a Nars Bronzing Powder. In the shade Irrisistablement. First I didn't look at the shade and in the car home I was gutted because it was too dark. I thought it was a pressed face powder but when I went on their website and saw it was a bronzer I was so happy. I am abit worried it'll make me look orange but I'll give it ago!!
I hope you have enjoyed this blog posts. Comment down below which ones you'd like to see a tutorial on. Have a good day.
